Our sustainably focused menu showcases our unique connection to Australian farmers.
For 148 years, the RNA has celebrated and championed agriculture through its Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and its Royal Queensland Awards (RQA) food and beverage competitions. In fact, our Royal ICC is the only convention centre in Australia where guests can enjoy produce awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in the RQA.
Through this connection, our world-class chefs have formed close relationships with the competition entrants - Australia’s finest farmers and producers - learning the story behind each high-quality ingredient used.
The Royal ICC’s 2025 menu has embraced the live station format, connecting chefs with event guests through an interactive catering experience.
With so much award-winning produce grown right here in southeast Queensland, we have a strong focus on sourcing local food and beverages. We know every function is unique, so our chefs can also tailor menus to suit any event need or dietary requirement.

Our Brisbane Showgrounds Executive Chef, Sean Cummings (front, right), has been with the functions venue since March 2013.
Sean was formerly Executive Chef at the Park Hyatt Melbourne and before that worked for Harvey Nichols at the prestigious Oxo Tower Restaurant in London.
Chef Sean leads a team of world-class chefs who create seasonal menus driven by local produce and award-winning Australian ingredients.
Our chef team’s philosophy is to only use the best of the best ingredients and they prides themselves on their close relationship with the farmers supplying the Brisbane Showgrounds.
